The Chemistry Department is considered one of the core departments in the Faculty of Science, Al-Asabaa, as the department aims to prepare specialized technical personnel in the various branches of chemistry and qualify them for the labor market and its various requirements in the fields of: Education, health, environment, water analysis laboratories and various medical analysis laboratories through teaching basic courses in which the theoretical aspect is linked to practical application. The Chemistry Department was established in 2011 , similar to the other departments in the college, and the first batch graduated in 2015 .
Description
The duration of study in the department is eight (8) semesters, containing 50 courses and amounting to one hundred and forty-four (136) study units, at a rate of 176 study hours, during which the student is awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
Vision
The Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Science, Al-Asabaa - Gharyan University seeks to provide distinguished university education in the field of chemistry and to supply the local and external community with competent and trained specialists in the field of work and scientific research who are able to compete in the labor market. To achieve this goal, the department continuously evaluates and develops study plans and programs, assesses performance, ensures the quality of the educational process, and utilizes communication technology and advanced technology to serve the educational process.
Mission
The department is committed to preparing and developing programs aimed at producing distinguished graduates and scientific researchers at the undergraduate level. The department also provides community service represented by providing scientific consultations or by actively contributing to the service of the industrial, educational or environmental community using scientific methods and applying modern technologies.
Goals
To raise the graduate's academic level by equipping them with modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills, thus providing them with a competitive edge in the job market and enabling them to perform well. To elevate the quality of scientific research produced by the department and, whenever possible, focus on applied fields that serve society and the environment in various sectors.
